PITTSFIELD, Mass. - Firefighters in Pittsfield spent early Sunday morning battling a large fire on South Street.
The fire originated in a two-story barn/garage, and when firefighters arrived shortly after 2 a.m., the structure was fully engulfed.
There were three residential structures within 100 feet of the building, but the department said none of them were in danger.
Hinsdale Fire Department assisted at the scene with their firefighter rehab bus due to the extremely cold conditions.
The main body of the fire was brought under control in roughly an hour. Crews remained on scene until 6 a.m. to extinguish any remaining hot spots.
No damage was sustained to the owners' residence and no firefighters or residents were injured.
