Remnant Low Leslie

Leslie formed on Wednesday, Oct. 2 in the eastern tropical Atlantic. It strengthened into a hurricane late in the day on Oct. 4, making it the eighth hurricane of the 2024 season.

Leslie weakened to a tropical storm on Tuesday, Oct. 8, but strengthened back into a hurricane late that night. It rapidly weakened on Thursday and is now a non-tropical low moving quickly into the colder waters of the Atlantic.

Other disturbance

A tropical wave is in the eastern Atlantic near the Cabo Verde Islands. Development is possible as it drifts west or northwestward into the eastern Tropical Atlantic, but conditions will become less favorable this weekend.
