A quiet night statewide with a mostly clear to partly cloudy sky and temperatures falling into the single digits across northern Wisconsin and teens elsewhere.

After some early sunshine, clouds will be increasing Friday afternoon as a weak system approaches from the west. Eventually this will bring some light snow or flurries to parts of the state Friday night and this could linger into Saturday. Temperatures will hold steady the next few days in the upper 20s and low 30s.

A much stronger system will then race through the state on Sunday bringing widespread snow to most areas. There is even the potential that a band of heavy snow sets up somewhere but it's still too soon to pinpoint exactly where this will be. Regardless, most locations could get a few inches out of this. Stay tuned for updates.

Quiet weather returns early next week.
