With rain in the forecast, the New York Mets have postponed their Opening Day game against the Milwaukee Brewers by one day to Friday, the team announced Wednesday.
The game will also start slightly later on Friday - at 1:40 p.m., instead of the originally scheduled time of 1:10 p.m.
Fans who had tickets for the originally scheduled Thursday game can instead use them on Friday, the Mets said.
This is the second year in a row that rain has caused the Mets to postpone their first home game of the season. Their home opener against the Miami Marlins was postponed by a day last April due to rain.
The Yankees are scheduled to open their season Thursday against the Astros in Houston at 4:10 p.m.
