MILWAUKEE (SPECTRUM NEWS) -- Tom Haudricourt has been covering the Milwaukee Brewers and Major League Baseball for a long time. You can read his work in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel or on jsonline.com.

These days, the pandemic has forced all of us to cover sports in a different way.

In an interview for Spectrum News 1, I asked Tom if he thinks there will be a 2020 baseball season.

"I know they're trying...You see various plans floated...I know they want to. Both sides are very motivated. I know they're gonna try to do it...The devil's in the details. It's gonna be very interesting to see what they're able to do, where they're able to do it and when they're able to do it. The only thing that seems to be a given right now is that it sounds like they've almost decided they have to at least start with no fans in the stands," Haudricourt said.

If the season starts at all, it will be late, likely requiring postseason games in November. Weather will be a factor. That means that a facility with a roof like Miller Park could host World Series games.

"They'll certainly be in the mix," according to Haudricourt. "Would they decide they want it in a warm weather place kind of like the Super Bowl so that there could be other festivities involved? I don't know. Miami might be a factor there. They have a brand new stadium in Texas they're trying to open...If they play in November, they're gonna have to go to neutral dome sites, in my opinion. The later it takes to get started, the more chance of that happening is, I think."
