Abbey Taylor is a multimedia journalist for Spectrum News 1. She grew up twenty minutes from St. Louis and graduated from Eastern Illinois University (EIU) with a degree in Journalism in 2018.

During Abbey’s four years at EIU, she interned for the PBS affiliate WEIU, which is a live, nightly award-winning newscast broadcasted by students. After reporting in Central Illinois for four years, Abbey fell in love with storytelling. She is passionate about both reporting the news and sharing peoples’ stories. In her last semester interning with WEIU she won a National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Mid-America Emmy for her on-air talent. Before coming to Spectrum News 1, she was a multimedia journalist and the weekend anchor at Siouxland News in Sioux City, Iowa. She then worked as a multimedia journalist at KY3 in Springfield, Missouri.

Abbey discovered her love for traveling after studying abroad in London in college. She traveled to thirteen different countries around Europe. She hopes to add more countries to her list one day soon.

When she’s not traveling or reporting, you can find Abbey playing with her pet corgi, George. She loves the outdoors and exploring new places. She also enjoys photography, reading, and blogging on all her adventures. Abbey’s excited to learn more about Wisconsin and get involved in the community.
