During that time, he’s made an impact on the staffing shortage the facility was seeing and hired around 35 people in six months or so.

He said he wanted to make a difference and leave an impact on residents.

“A team, that’s the first person that they meet is a nurse, or a social worker or a therapist and that interaction is so important to me,” Minarik said. “As soon as I got here, I got into the HR portal, started setting up interviews. I was doing 12,14,16 interviews a week for nurses, and CNAs and just building a team.”

One of the recently hired team members by Minarik is social worker Cedric Addison.

Addison has over 20 years of experience in social work and said he’s been able to jump right into the fast-paced environment. He works to help staff, patients, and their family member navigate their needs.

“In the last three months, actually sitting down with the residents, their families, really assessing and seeing where they are at,” Addison said. “The services that are needed in the community, as well as making sure that they have a good stay,”

Staff work around the clock with residents and patients at the facility. Minarik said it’s one of the many reasons hiring and maintaining a staff is so important.

“Being the person who oversees the amount of caring and compassionate people, the therapist, the nurses,” he said. “It gives me a fulfillment like nothing else."

The staff have been able to make an impact in just a short amount of time for both residents and the facility.
