“It was definitely warmer last year,” said Mucha. “So being here in the snow is a little bit different, but it’s definitely fun to be here and just have a fun experience.”

Fans from across Wisconsin came to watch the state title games, including Weston Arndt. He traveled from the Baldwin-Woodville School District. He said the tradition of brotherhood, family and competition keeps him coming to games.

“A lot of the parents have been down here before as either players or fans for decades,” said Arndt. “To support the team this year and continue to support the community … it’s just wonderful, wonderful to see.”

Some fans were not shocked about the weather, calling it “beautiful Wisconsin football weather.” Lomira graduate Eli Filber said all he had to do was bundle up.

“I got an undershirt on and then I got a sweatshirt and got some tights and some sweatpants,” said Filber. “Then I threw the good ol’ Carhartt bibs on. [I’m going to] stay nice and warm today.”

Mucha and her friends were not going to let the weather keep them from watching their team play for a state championship. The senior said she will miss these moments.

“Just the student section is so fun to be here with my friends,” said Mucha. “Coming to the football games every year … this year we had a lot of home games. So just creating that big student section and the fun themes is always so exciting.”
