MILWAUKEE — A lot of family fun is planned for this year's Bronzeville Week. From run/walks to art walks the celebration highlights the culture of this Milwaukee neighborhood.
This is the 13th year for the festival that started with just one block on North Avenue, one stage and seven vendors. Now, the event usually brings in over 1,000 people to enjoy 100 plus vendors and three stages.
Make sure you bring your artistic talent to Bronzeville Week. On Aug. 4, people can help finish paint the eight-foot letters that spell out Bronzeville on 5th and North Avenue; that will be led by a local artist.
Milwaukee Alderwoman Milele Coggs said this week is a great opportunity for vendors to not only make some money but to also express their art.
“Many of the vendors are usually local creatives, local artists, so it’s really sort of to make people be aware of the art that you create,” said Coggs.
