MILWAUKEE — Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen will travel to Milwaukee today to tout economic efforts under the Biden Administration.

  • Treasury Secretary Janet L. Yellen will travel to Milwaukee on Friday to tout economic efforts under the Biden Administration

  • Yellen will start with a tour of a Wisconsin Regional Training Partnership (WRTP) and Building Industry Group Skilled Trades Employment Program (BIG STEP) workforce training facility

  • Following the tour, Yellen will participate in a roundtable discussion with local leaders

  • She’ll also deliver remarks regarding the administration’s efforts to create "good-paying" job pathways for middle class Americans

Yellen will start with a tour of a Wisconsin Regional Training Partnership (WRTP) and Building Industry Group Skilled Trades Employment Program (BIG STEP) workforce training facility. The facility is modernizing and expanding through federal funding and is also providing new credentialing opportunities in green constructions through the American Rescue Plan.

Following the tour, Yellen will participate in a roundtable discussion with local leaders, including Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley and WRTP | BIG STEP training program leaders and participants.  

She’ll also deliver remarks regarding the administration’s efforts to create pathways for “good-paying jobs for middle class Americans” across the U.S.

While in Cream City, Yellen will also connect with regional business leaders who are being hosted by the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce.

Prior to her Milwaukee visit, Yellen will deliver a major economic address on Thursday at the Chicago Economic Club in Illinois.
