WISCONSIN — The Badger State will soon be home to a tech hub thanks to efforts by U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis.

Wisconsin will receive a $350,000 planning grant to execute its Biohealth Tech Hub strategy. That was made possible by the Baldwin-supported CHIPS and Science Act.

BioForward Wisconsin, based in Madison, along with a consortium of 15 public and private partners, submitted the state's application.

Baldwin said she believes Wisconsin is well suited for this. The senator pointed out Wisconsin is home to world class research institutes, cutting edge businesses and skilled workers.

"This Tech Hub application on personalized medicine will lead to real breakthroughs in how we deal with challenges like cancer and other chronic illnesses," she said. 

"The idea is to really innovate, participate in research and development and commercialize what we come up with so that personalized medicine is not just something that is in the laboratory but is something that ultimately becomes available to all," Baldwin added.
