MILWAUKEE — In a momentous occasion for the Milwaukee Bucks and their devoted fan base, Damian Lillard, one of the NBA’s top players, has officially become a Bucks player.

Both the city and fans across the state erupted in excitement as Lillard was welcomed to his new home and team outside Fiserv Forum. Fans gathered at the Deer District on a sunny Saturday afternoon to catch their first glimpse of the Bucks’ latest addition.

Longtime Bucks supporter, Adrian Lockett, expressed his enthusiasm for Lillard’s arrival.

“You know what time it is? It’s Dame time,” said Lockett. “Milwaukee all day. We are going to get crazy. Championship all day.”

The seven-time NBA all-star champion greeted Milwaukee fans and shared moments with fans.

“Man, it was good to see him,” said Charles Bowers, a dedicated Bucks fan. “It’s going to be a great season. Can’t wait till he plays the first game.”

Eddie Jaimes has the honor of being the first fan to receive Lillard’s limited-edition jersey.

“It was awesome,” said Jaimes. “I got a jersey!”

Milwaukee native Eric Pagel sported a Lillard Portland Trail Blazers to emphasize his dedication through the years to the star player.

“It’s a dream come true to get to see one of my favorite players on my favorite team,” said Pagel.

Among the spirited crowd was eight-year-old Reuben Luckman, who couldn’t contain his excitement for Milwaukee’s newest Buck.

“He’s one of the best,” said Luckman. “He’s really good at making three-pointers and making a lot of twos and making midrange shots.”

And the excitement is just beginning. 

“I know Giannis is excited, the city is excited, and I’m excited,” said Kendrel Lockett, a longtime Bucks fan. “I mean hey, I love it. I’m happy to see him here.”

As the Bucks prepare to hit the court on Thursday, Oct. 26 at Fiserv Forum for the season opener, the city’s enthusiasm for this new chapter is palpable.
