GREEN BAY, Wis. — It was the start of a new season at Lambeau Field and that meant Packers Family Night fun for fans of the green and gold.
Packers supporters from around the country traveled to Lambeau Field Saturday to watch the team take to the field.
It was also the first time some fans experienced being part of the green and gold nation.
Family night was Lucas Krebs’ first time at Titletown. He was excited to toss the football around as part of his Packers Family Night fun, and even more thrilled about the start of the season.
“We have a couple new players and I want to see how Jordan Love’s going to do,” Lucas Krebs said.
His mom, Meghan Krebs, was also excited to see the new starting quarterback suit up.
“I’m looking forward to see what Jordan Love has to bring for the Packers; see if it’ll be a fresh new start,” she said.
An Indiana native, Meghan Krebs said she became a Packers fan by way of her Wisconsin-born husband, Joey Krebs.
They have two other sons, Carter and Bennett Krebs. Carter Krebs said he is also excited about the new quarterback.
“I think Jordan Love’s going to do all right,” he said.
Meghan Krebs said hectic schedules made it difficult to get the entire family to a Packers game. So, Saturday was a family first.
The mother of three said she was happy her family enjoyed the day’s activities and being part of the community.
“We’re here because we’re big Packers fans and it gives us an opportunity to let the kids see the stadium and going to be immersed in the Packers community,” she said.
The state of the team wasn’t far from other Packers fans’ minds.
Many were optimistic about the upcoming season, even with all the questions surrounding how the team will do this year.
“The unknown is kind of exciting. Don’t what’s going to happen with Jordan Love. Might be a great season be a great season,” Packers fan Adam Miller said. “Might be a mediocre season, but the unknown is the kind of fun to go into the season looking for.”
The Packers have two pre-season home games and two away games before the regular season starts. Their first preseason game is in Cincinnati on Aug. 11.
