MILWAUKEE — The 120th anniversary celebration for Harley-Davidson is underway. It’s bringing in thousands of enthusiasts from all over the country and around the world.
Jim Grosso and his friends rode all the way from Staten Island, New York, to be here this weekend.
“A couple of us are life members to H.O.G. and others are regular members to H.O.G. We’re here to show our support to the brand and enjoy the festivities,” said Grosso.
He said he’s excited for the events and to meet fellow riders.
“Making more new friends, seeing some good bargains and dealerships,” said Grosso. “That’s about it.”
He’s not the only one that traveled hundreds of miles to be here. Don Snovell rode from Orlando, Florida.
“We come every five years,” said Snovell. “That seems to be the big one. We just like coming and supporting the lifestyle we really love, not only the lifestyle, but the causes that Harley-Davidson is involved with, Rolling Thunder, first responders and the military.”
While the celebration is only a few days long, both Snovell and Grosso said they don’t mind the miles added to their bike.
“It’s called wind therapy,” said Grosso. “It’s cheaper than a psychiatrist.”
Both said they’re looking forward to a weekend filled with all things Harley-Davidson while getting to spend time with others who share the same passion as they do.
