HOPKINTON, Mass — Devin Callinan is running his first marathon, the Boston Marathon, on Monday for the KeepSmilin4Abbie Foundation, a cause near and dear to his heart.

"It's a local charity, KeepSmilin4Abbie Foundation. The daughter of the founders, Abbie Benford, tragically passed away 10 years ago in 2013 from an anaphylactic reaction. My wife Megan and I have three kids, and the youngest of our kids, Nolan, he's 6 now. He has severe allgergies and unfortunately did go into an anaphylactic shock when he was a year and a half, so we certainly understand the severity of what anaphylactic reactions can do. And that really drew us to the cause."

With the Boston Marathon just two days away, Callinan, a Hopkinton resident, is pumed and ready to go.

"I'm honestly really excited. I can't wait for the event. It's been a long grueling ride. A lot of people have told me that have run it in the past, you put in the hard work, the training is the work, whereas the race itself is the victory lap. So enjoy it. It's an iconic marathon, probably the most iconic in the world."
