MILWAUKEE — Two Wisconsin teams are taking part in the 2023 International Snow Sculpture Championships in Breckenridge.
Team USA Wisconsin Tomczak titled their sculpture, “The Complexities of Life” and Team USA Wisconsin Snowblind titled their sculpture, “Forest Jam.” Team members are from around the Milwaukee area.

“They are both very incredible competitors, both teams placed in 2022,” said Lauren Swanson, Public Relations Director, Breckenridge Tourism Office.
The international competition brings snow sculpture artists from around the globe to Breckenridge. 2023 makes the 32nd annual championships.
The sculpting ended Friday and sculptures will be on display for people to see through Feb. 1.
The awards are as follows:
- GOLD: Team Germany (Bavaria) – Sub-Zero Gravity
- SILVER: Team USA (Breckenridge) – Ullr
- BRONZE: Team Lithuania – Warn(m)ing Clouds Intersect
- ARTISTS’ CHOICE AWARD: Team Lithuania – Warn(m)ing Clouds Intersect
- PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD: USA (Wisconsin – Snowblind) – Forest Jam
