MILWAUKEE — Fond du Lac native Kylene Spanbauer was recently named the new Miss Wisconsin 2022.
This comes after the previous title holder, Grace Stanke, was named Miss America 2023 earlier this month.
“It’s definitely been a crazy few weeks,” Spanbauer said. “It hasn’t really settled in yet. It’s going to take some time.”
Spanbauer said sexual assault education is a top priority for her with her title.
“It really affects so many people, and I want to provide more education on what sexual assault is,” she said. “What is sexual harassment, and what do you do if it happens to you or someone you know?”
Spanbauer went to the University of Iowa and was a featured “Golden Girl” baton twirler for the Hawkeyes Marching Band for five years.
