WISCONSIN — Universities across Wisconsin are wrapping up the fall semester with final exams. University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has postponed its finals due to the expected winter weather.

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee released a statement that said the university is monitoring the forecast in light of the potential for hazardous weather later this week. UW-Milwaukee said it will provide updates to the campus and community Tuesday and Wednesday.

Ulises Munoz, a UW-Milwaukee senior who graduated this past weekend, has one more accounting final to take until he’s officially a graduate.

“Snow storm coming in Thursday, Friday,” said Munoz. “I’ll be home by then so I’ll just be home relaxing.”

He said he is thankful to beat the weather and is planning graduation celebrations once the weather passes.

“It’s too cold to do anything anyways,” said Munoz.

Another UW-Milwaukee student, Nolan Karklus, said he has finals on Thursday when the weather is expected to hit.

“To me, it doesn’t make too much of a difference because I live so close,” said Karklus. “I’m more worried about getting to work on Friday.”

In the meantime, students still on campus will play the waiting game to see how bad the storm will be.
