WAUKESHA, Wis. — Neighbors in Waukesha, Wis. are sharing their thoughts on the news of Darrell Brooks Jr. being found guilty of all 76 charges he faced.

Brooks was found guilty of killing six people and injuring more than 60 others after driving his SUV through the Waukesha Christmas parade in November of last year. Each homicide charge carries a mandatory life sentence.

Wednesday morning at Dave’s Family Restaurant, it was business as usual, but employees and customers now have a sense of closure.

Jane Kulich, one of the victims killed in the Christmas parade, worked at the restaurant for five years.

And one Waukesha resident was thankful for the guilty verdict.

“My heart hurts and I have a little bit of anger that he could sit there in the courtroom, but it is done,” said resident Willie Cole. “It is over with, and now they have closure. They have our support.”

Several neighbors stressed the community remains “Waukesha Strong” and everyone agreed they feel thankful for some closure.
