NEENAH, Wis. — A new Neenah High School is set to open its doors in fall 2023, according to the Neenah Joint School District. Community members are invited to visit the site Monday from 4 to 5 p.m.

During that time, Miron Construction staff will lead tours, providing details on the interior drywall installation, painting, exterior brick, metal fabrication, window installation and general information on the site.

District officials said the event does not require hard hats, but advised anyone wanting to visit wear closed-toe shoes.

On Monday, district officials said construction crews are making daily progress on the new building, located along County II on a 220-acre site.

As of Oct. 10, roofing was about 50% complete, and installation is ongoing. Fireproofing is also underway throughout the school building.

Site-work restoration and sports field construction is set to be 90% done by late fall. Grandstand bleachers have already been installed, while construction of concession stands, press boxes and a maintenance building is ongoing.

In the North education wings, brick and window installation is finished; the wing is now being painted. District officials also said interior steel stud framing, in-wall MEP rough-ins and drywall are being installed throughout the school.

Exterior metal wall panels are being installed. Site finishes such as concrete sidewalks, asphalts for track and tennis courts and athletic equipment are taking place.

The high school was part of a $114.9 million referendum, which was approved by district voters in April. The new school will cost about $155 million. District officials said the rest of the cost will be funded through the district’s annual operating budget. In June, the district said it borrowed $99 million for the new school.
