BROWN DEER, Wis. — A new type of babysitting facility just opened in Brown Deer.

It is a drop-in program that doesn’t require parents to buy a membership or stay on the property.

“It is so hard to find a babysitter when you are a mom and I just knew this would be something that everybody needs,” said Maia Meldman, a mom of two and the owner of The Playroom.

Moms know this facility is rare and extremely beneficial.

“Sometimes if I am working a short shift or have to get a task to get done, it is really nice to be able to drop her off and get done any of those little tasks I have to do,” Alex Schmidt said.

The Playroom has rates starting at $10 an hour and provides care for children ages six weeks through six years. Parents can even check in on our their children during playtime through a camera and an app feature that allows caregivers to watch.

The Playroom is located at Infinite Gymnastics.
