MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee will soon join the list of cities across the globe helping Ukraine through baking.
Around 15 professional bakeries from across southeastern Wisconsin are coming together for Bake for Ukraine MKE. They are donating their time and ingredients to make a variety of baked goods, with all the proceeds going to World Central Kitchen and Save the Children.
Sarah Mironczuk owns Bakehouse 23 MKE and is one of the bakers who organized the event. Mironczuk’s mother is originally from Ukraine and the conflict taking place hits very close to home for her.
“You feel very helpless, so we naturally fall back on what we know which is baking and trying to raise money,” Mironczuk
Pre-orders are being accepted online. Pick up will be April 7 at Lakefront Brewery and April 9 at Art Bar.
