MADISON, Wis. – After months of decentralizing COVID-19 testing sites across Dane County, Public Health Madison & Dane County reopened their mass COVID-19 testing clinic.

What You Need To Know

  • Public Health Madison & Dane County reopened their mass COVID testing clinic

  • Expect COVID-19 testing results to take between 24-48 hours

  • Appointments and pre-registration are recommended

"This is nice, a lot nicer than waiting in long lines,” resident Katherine Tumarkin said. “I could make an appointment here.”

The last time Tumarkin went for a COVID-19 test, she said she waited over two hours in her car and still wasn't sure she'd get a test before the pharmacy closed.

"I'm being tested again because my friends have been exposed and I just want to be safe," said Tumarkin.

Theodore Olmsted and his co-worker just found out there was exposure at the restaurant where they work.

"We are now getting registered and getting tested because we don't know if we have it," said Olmsted.

Wisconsin-based Accelerated Clinical Labs is the testing provider on-site at the Alliant Energy Center.

"We are asking that people sign up for an appointment and pre-register online to help expedite the process," said Nick Fink, Vice President of Operations at Accelerated Clinical Labs.

Tumarkin is getting tested before she heads back to college.

“But, this time unlike the last," Tumarkin said. “It took five minutes, so that was pretty nice.”

Expect COVID-19 testing results to take between 24-48 hours.
