MILWAUKEE —  On Saturday, Spectrum helped host a birthday party for kids that highlighted a low-cost, high-speed broadband service called Spectrum Internet Assist.

Spectrum, along with the Homer Blow Foundation, made it possible for each child at the event to select a birthday gift from more than two thousand toys, including everything from bikes to powered mini cars.

Spectrum also made a gift of $1,000 to the event to help cover the cost of the gifts, and later raffled off Chromebooks to families in attendance. The event also included entertainment from local artists, a dance contest and other activities.

Several local and state representatives also attended the event. State Sen. Lena Taylor, State Rep. David Bowen, Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley, State Rep. Kalan Haywood, Alderman Ashanti Hamilton and other community partners were in attendance to promote broadband access throughout the Milwaukee area.

Charter Communications is the parent company of Spectrum News 1.
