GREEN BAY, Wis.— The first round of townhouses in the Titletown District are wrapping up construction and some people are moving in. Terry Fulwiler was first in line to purchase a house and chose one with a great view of Lambeau Field.
“From here you get a really good view of Lambeau and you can see the south Jumbotron. When it’s on, you can watch the game live on that if you’d like,” said Fulwiler.
Looking east from one of the third story guest bedroom windows, Terry gets a wide glimpse at Lambeau.
“I guess if I had to choose between the two guest bedrooms, this would be the one I take because I can see the stadium,” said Fulwiler
As the owner, Terry doesn’t have to make that choice. The master bedroom looks out over the Titletown playground and offers another glimpse at Lambeau. Terry and his wife were the first homeowners to move in to the Townhomes. They have a residence in Algoma but wanted a place in Green Bay to cut down on Terry’s business travel. He’s also a diehard Packers fan and served on their Board of Directors.
In a living room hangs a framed Packers jersey with the Fulwiler name. The number 10 on the front and 60 on the back represent their new address.
“The Packers organization and the folks at Titletown were nice enough to give us this as a housewarming gift. It’s signed by Matt Lafleur,” said Fulwiler.
Jackie Krutz manages Titletown Residential and says ten homes are under contract and so far, one other family has moved in. It’s still an active construction zone but having homeowners moving in is a welcome sign.
“To add the residential piece and to have actual homeowners move in has been very exciting because it brings us essentially one step closer to our overall vision for the development. Being here in Titletown, everything is walking distance away. You could probably tuck your car into your garage for the whole entire weekend and literally spend your whole entire time here.”
Terry’s a season ticket holder and knows he’ll be on the hook for pregame entertainment.
“We have a group of about a half a dozen of us who go to all the Packers games so now we have a good tailgate spot,” said Fulwiler.
He’s looking forward to attending games again once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. In the meantime, he enjoys hearing touchdown fireworks going off in his backyard after each Packers touchdown.
“The television feed has a built in delay. We’re watching the game and the Packers get a first down on the ten yard line and all the sudden we hear fireworks going off. We say, hey this is going to be a really good play coming up. They’re going to score.”
Terry retired from the Packers Board of Directors in July after turning 70 and became a director emeritus. He was on the board since 2004 and got to see the business side of the organization. In his words, Packers President Mark Murphy and his group are a sharp bunch. The vision to create the Titletown District now brings in extra revenue streams for the organization…not to mention, a nice home for the Fulwilers.
“It came out beautiful. They really did a nice job. It’s up to the Packers standards. Now I think all the NFL teams are looking at this stuff and getting ideas.”
