MADISON, Wisc., (SPECTRUM NEWS) - People facing homelessness in Madison will soon be able to get tested for coronavirus.

City officials announced Thursday they’ll be testing at four shelters. Those include the Salvation Army, The Beacon and two Porchlight locations.

Testing will be offered biweekly, rotating to a different shelter each time.

Public Health Madison Dane County director Janel Heinrich says shelter staff have been working extremely hard to keep people safe. She says because of that, there haven’t been any outbreaks in Madison shelters.

Heinrich didn’t have an exact date for when testing will start. She says she expects it to continue into the fall.
