But some businesses are still hiring.
To help both employers and prospective employees, the Greater Green Bay Chamber is offering a new website listing open jobs in the region. The project is in conjunction with the NEW Manufacturing Alliance.
Listings run from entry level production work to machinists and welders.
“We want people to understand there are still many companies hiring and there are companies hiring for regular jobs they already had posted and there are companies ramping up and hiring temporary, interim, folks as well,” said Kelly Armstrong, Vice President of economic development with the chamber.
The pandemic has hit business sectors like hospitality, restaurants and retail especially hard hard.
For those out of work, Armstrong said access to job listings can be a bright spot in challenging times.
“If you’re in the job market already, there is hope,” she said.
