MILWAUKEE (SPECTRUM NEWS) - Monday the Democratic National Convention Host Committee took a big step in connecting businesses with DNC organizers and visitors.

The vendor search portal, now live on the DNC website, allows anyone to filter through more than a thousand businesses for services from transportation to catering. The directory is part of the effort to ensure businesses beyong downtown Milwaukee benefit from the city hosting the convention this July.

“I have to give the DNC committee lots of kudos,” said Lisa Goodman, who listed her voice over business, A GoodWoman’s Voice, on the DNC site. “They’ve been very, very purposeful about how to get people involved.”

Lisa Goodman and her husband Alan both launched small businesses in the last year and a half. Alan’s baking business, A Goodman’s Desserts, is listed alongside his wife’s in the vendor portal. The couple hopes the DNC can provide a boost to their businesses while showing the world what Milwaukee has to offer.

“I want my children to see what success looks like,” Lisa Goodman said. “Not just for our community and for our city, but what it would look like for our family.”
