State Senator Joan Ballweg (WI-14) started as a member of her local Chamber of Commerce before running for the State Senate in 2004. 

In her Know Your Electeds interview, Ballweg said she wishes more people knew that her job relied on building coalitions in order to pass legislation. In fact, she considers consensus to be the most important part of her job.

If Ballweg had to describe her district in three words, she would pick "farming," "vacations" and "beautiful". On a Sunday morning during football season, you can typically find Ballweg watching a Green Bay Packers game.
