WISCONSIN— After the NCAA opened the door over the summer for student-athletes to make money off their name, image and likeness, some states have passed legislation detailing what college athletes can and cannot do.

So far, Wisconsin is not one of those states.

Universities and colleges here have been tasked with setting their own NIL policies that student-athletes can adhere to.

State Rep. Adam Neylon, R-Pewaukee, said, right now, it doesn't seem like there's any kind of push in the state legislature to get involved in regulating NIL in college sports.

But Neylon added, because the NIL opportunities for student-athletes are so new, he and other lawmakers are watching things develop.
