A lawmaker uniquely qualified to speak on tourism, State Rep. Rob Swearingen (R-Rhinelander), is the owner of the Al-Gen supper club.
“The hospitality industry took a pretty good gut punch,” Swearingen said, but sees signs of the rebound in his district.
He said as resorts and golf courses open up, the labor shortage might be the biggest obstacle going forward. Still, he says the Northwoods is “nature’s original waterpark” and has plenty to offer this summer.
