KENOSHA (SPECTRUM NEWS) - This week, Latora Lezotte, was awarded the Distinguished Costume Design Award at the 50th Annual National Festival at the John F. Kennedy Center of the Performing Arts in Washington D.C. for her work on an original production, Up and Away. Lezotte, who is a junior at Carthage College said she first fell in love with sewing from her family but it was her professors who introduced her to the costume design world.

Lezotte, is a student of Professor Kim Instenes who designs for companies like the Milwaukee Chamber Theater as a freelancer. Instenes also grew the Carthage program from nothing a decade ago. Instenes’ alumni have gone on to work in the theater world in New York and Chicago.
