Andrew Havranek is an award-winning journalist who joined Spectrum News 1 Wisconsin in November 2020.

Andrew is a total "yinzer," meaning he's originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Duquesne University in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Journalism.

Andrew started his career in 2014 at WDTV in Clarksburg, West Virginia. During his time there, he wore many hats as a multimedia journalist, producer, and anchor. He was recognized by the West Virginia Broadcasters Association as the best photojournalist in the state in 2015. In 2016 and 2017, he was recognized for having the best AM newscast statewide.

From there, Andrew spent three years at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri reporting for KY3 and KSPR in Springfield. He started the 'Lake Bureau,' covering stories all around the region, and covered politics from the State Capitol in Jefferson City.

While in Missouri, he earned awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and the Kansas City Press Club in 2019, as well as an award from the Missouri Broadcasters' Association in 2020.

Andrew is a huge Pittsburgh sports fan, cheering for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Steelers, and Pirates.

When not chasing stories or cheering on his teams, Andrew likes to golf, swim, and travel. He and his family take vacations every year together, mostly to Key West or Las Vegas. He is also a musical theatre fan and a drummer.
