MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsinites will get to share their thoughts on the state budget at four public hearings in April. Three will be held in person and one will be held virtually.

Wednesday morning Joint Committee on Finance (JFC) co-chairs state Rep. Mark Born (R-Beaver Dam) and state Sen. Howard Marklein (R-Spring Green) announced the dates and locations for public hearings on the 2021-23 state budget.
 


What You Need To Know

  • Wisconsin's spending plan lasts for two years from July of an odd-numbered year through June of the next odd-numbered year

  • Gov. Evers announced his spending priorities during an address to lawmakers in February

  • JFC will hold hearings around the state in April so citizens can share their thoughts

  • After hearing from the public, JFC puts together its own version of the budget
