NEW BERLIN, Wis. — After 61 years in Oshkosh, the Miss Wisconsin Competition is moving to New Berlin.

The Miss Wisconsin Organization announced the news on Tuesday, saying it will bid farewell to the Alberta Kimball Auditorium at Oshkosh West High School.

“On behalf of the Miss Wisconsin Organization, I would like to thank Oshkosh for 61 wonderful years hosting our competition. We are forever grateful for the incredible generosity and support of countless volunteers and businesses who helped shape who we are today,” said Executive Director Brenda Baudo in a release.

Three Miss Wisconsins who competed on Oshkosh stage went on to become Miss America.

Now, that stage will be in New Berlin at the New Berlin West Performing Arts Center.

“The West Performing Arts Center is a beautiful venue. Over the last couple of years, we have worked hard to bring more concerts and special events to it so that our community can enjoy this tremendous space,” said Joe Garza, superintendent of the School District of New Berlin, in a release. “We are excited to team up with the Miss Wisconsin Organization and the City of New Berlin. This mutually beneficial partnership aligns perfectly with our strategic goals and will give us yet another opportunity to showcase the PAC and our incredible school district.”

But New Berlin is no stranger to the Miss Wisconsin Organization. Four Miss Wisconsins have come from or represented the city within the past 25 years, including Jayme Dawicki in 2002, Tracy Gest in 2005, Meghan Coffey in 2006 and Rosalie Smith in 2015.

New Berlin Mayor Dave Ament said the partnership will enhance the local economy by attracting visitors. He said looks forward to working with the organization for “many years.”

The 2025 Miss Wisconsin and Miss Wisconsin’s Teen Competitions will take place on June 18-21, 2025. It will feature Miss Wisconsin 2024, Mandi Genord of Beaver Dam, and Miss Wisconsin’s Teen 2024, Ella Bey of Pewaukee. In early January, the two are competing for the titles of Miss America and Miss America’s Teen in Orlando, Florida.

Leader didn’t say why the organization decided to relocate.
