APPLETON, Wis. — Mile of Music is just over 100 days away and Appleton’s mile-long celebration of singer-songwriters is looking ahead to its 10th year of making music.
Stretching through a mile of downtown Appleton, Mile of Music kicks off Aug. 3 and runs through Aug. 6. Original music will play at 40 venues, featuring 200+ acts. Mile of Music is specficlly made to highlight smaller, lesser-known artists from around the nation. As of last year, the festival has started to bring international acts to its stages, too.
The festival said these are “not household names but certainly could be based on their singing talents, musicianship and songwriting capabilities.”
The “First 50” artists were released Tuesday, but they will announce more in the coming weeks. Of those 50, 19 are returning acts and 31 are brand new to Mile of Music.
