GREEN BAY, Wis.— The COVID-19 vaccine clinic at Lambeau Field is reaching its final days.

The site will cease operations at the stadium June 30.

Clinic coordinator for Bellin Health, Sherry LaFond, says vaccinating people at the location has been a rewarding treat.

“It feels like home,” she said.

LaFond says the vaccinators at the clinic have administered more than 45,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine since it opened in mid-March.

Susan Hickey is a retired nurse who was asked to serve as a vaccinator. She’s worked at the site since it opened.

“Every time I hear the percentage of people fully vaccinated it’s like yes… get us that much closer to normal,” Hickey said.

LaFond says while it was hard work, she’ll look back fondly on the time she and her team spent at the iconic stadium.

“This has been very very special,” she said. “When you look back at all we’ve been through as a community and as a region, everyone putting forth their efforts as made us stronger.”
