MILWAUKEE— It's one of the most anticipated days of the year for frontline workers. And no, it's not a holiday.

Dr. Dimmy Sokhal is a pharmacist at Hayat Pharmacy in Milwaukee. Dr. Sokhal and her team at the pharmacy's Layton Avenue location are prepped and ready to begin administering the first round of COVID-19 vaccinations as early as next week.

"We are in 1A transitioning into 1B, so the health department has expanded the phase to also include police and fire department."

Group 1A includes health care professionals and residents of long term care facilities.

"We have a very narrow time to utilize the vaccine, so we have to have people sign up prior so we can have this workflow organized," she says.

Those eligible can sign up to be vaccinated, here
