WISCONSIN—  Some Wisconsin families are celebrating the New Year with a new bundle of joy. 

SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Madison delivered its first baby of the year on Friday, Jan. 1 at 2:08 a.m. Baby Lucas Orellana Carcaño. Baby Lucas is 20 inches long and weighs in at six pounds and 15 ounces. 

Back home, baby Lucas has a big brother and sister waiting to meet him. 

 “We feel very excited and very blessed with God because we didn’t expect to have him with us today,” his mom, Seleny Carcaño says. His arrival was not expected until Jan. 11.

Just a few moments later, HSHS St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay welcomed its first baby at 2:29 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 1. Baby Winston Joseph Klee weighs in at seven pounds and four ounces. 

“We’re so glad he’s here and we’re excited to bring him home to meet his siblings,” says his mom, Nicole.

Baby Joseph also made his world debut nine days earlier than his parents and big brother and sister expected.
