MILWAUKEE (SPECTRUM NEWS) --  The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee will not host overnight camps this summer because of the coronavirus pandemic, but clubs are starting to reopen to offer summer programs to kids.

Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee operates 44 clubs in MIlwaukee, most closed or started to offer fewer services in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The following club will be oepn on Monday, June 22:

  • Daniels-Mardak (4834 North 35th Street)
  • Fitzsimonds (3400 West North Avenue)
  • LaVarnway (2739 North 15th Street)
  • Pieper-Hillside (611 West Cherry Street)
  • Camp Whitcomb/Mason (W294 N8436 Camp Whitcomb Road, Hartland)

Camp Whitcomb will offer day camp operations, but overnight camps will not be offered for the 2020 season. Registration is now open, click here.

The following clubs opened on Monday, June 8:

  • Mary Ryan (3000 North Sherman Boulevard)
  • Don & Sallie Davis (1975 South 24th Street)

All open sites will operate under strict health and safety protocols as outlined by the CDC, Wisconsin Department of Health Services, and Milwaukee Health Department. Staff members have been through rigorous training, with a focus on social distancing, disinfecting & good hand hygiene. BGCGM staff are closely monitoring guidelines put forth by public health officials and will base all operational decisions on these guidelines.
