MADISON, Wis (SPECTRUM NEWS) -- A Madison area non-profit is thanking two area business leaders for stepping up to supply critical PPE for COVID-19 frontline efforts.

Boys & Girls Club of Dane County President Michael Johnson says grocer Tim Metcalfe is donating 65,000 masks and Sauk County's Hankscraft giving more than 100,000 gloves.  The goal help the organization continue its' mission to feed medical heroes, police and at-risk kids while keeping staff and volunteers safe.

"This is one of many ways of giving back to be of support and to lend a helping hand," Johnson said about the contribution to the COVID-19 Relief Campaign.

"It was very important for us to spread as many gloves out as we could to our local community.’ Hankscraft's Tom McGrath said about his company's decision to support the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County.  The company also provided Johnson and his team with several patented Aeroglove machines.  McGrath says the devices will help prevent cross-contamination and the spread of the virus.

McGrath hopes this effort is one that multiplies.  He encourages other small businesses  to contribute to the effort.

"And we’d like to challenge other Wisconsin manufacturers to help their local communities, we feel it doesn’t have to be on such a grand scale, but let’s do it where the greatest impact is served to those who serve us," McGrath said.
