MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. (SPECTRUM NEWS)— The YMCA of Greater Waukesha County has found a way to connect with its members while under safer at home orders.

Staying fit and active while at home isn’t always easy, especially for those missing the gym. Which is why the YMCA of Greater Waukesha County is working to bring the gym into their members homes.

Usually this gyms inside the YMCA would be packed with people, but due to safer at home orders places like the YMCA are shut down for now. However, that doesn’t mean health and wellness aren’t at the top of many minds

“We do need to focus now more than ever on our health and wellness. not only our physical fitness but our mental health as well,” YMCA of Greater Waukesha County Marketing Director, Emily Salas said.

In order to keep their members connected, the YMCA of Greater Waukesha County has developed a program with point incentives and online workouts.

“We wanted to make sure we were keeping our members engaged that way so when they are working out at home or going for a walk they can count that as a YMCA visit. They can check in our our website or mobile app and get those points,” Salas said.

They have classes for all different levels and age groups to participate. Their greatest hope is to keep their members moving and feeling good

“We just want to make sure that we are. still giving good content. there are a lot of things out there right now, people are trying to be creative at home and we just want to make sure people are doing what they can,” Salas said.
