In the aftermath of the Los Angeles riots, actor and playwright Anna Deavere Smith interviewed roughly 300 people, weaving their stories into a one-man show called “Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992.”

Using the verbatim words of those Smith interviewed, the piece examines the events from all perspectives, from jurors to rioters, Korean shopkeepers to Congresswoman Maxine Waters.

The show opens Friday at the Rubicon Theatre Company, the 30th anniversary of the LA riots, and runs through Sunday, May 15.
