WISCONSIN (SPECTRUM NEWS)— The 128th Refueling Wing is making hand made masks during the coronavirus outbreak.

Homemade masks are being produced across the US and right here in Wisconsin, the 128th Refueling Wing is adapting to the new norm and is making masks for those at the station.

The Air National Guard 128th Refueling Wing is adjusting the way their men and women are working during this time of crisis. The CDC has now recommended people wear masks for protection. In order to keep up their work, the members of the Refueling Wing have been sitting down at sewing machines to make masks for themselves and others at the base to be able to wear and continue their work.

“We were able to change gears, clean up our machines, and gather materials to make some sort of protection for our members on base. Basically we wanted to make sure everyone who came onto the installation had some sort of access to a mask,” 128th Refueling Wing SSgt. Matthew Gscheidmeier said.

The 128th Refueling Wing says they are used to using sewing machines for fixing up certain fabric parts for planes. They were able to make hundreds of masks for those on the base.
