When I got the news that former Packers "Golden Boy" Paul Hornung had died at the age of 84, it was a sad and familiar feeling.

So far in 2020, we've lost Hornung, Willie Davis, Willie Wood and Herb Adderley off those great "Glory Years" teams of Vince Lombardi in the 1960's.

In 2019, Hall of Famers Bart Starr and Forrest Gregg passed away. In 2018, Jim Taylor died.

For those of us of a certain age, an era is coming to an end. It hits us hard because it makes all of us come to terms with our own mortality. These legends were larger than life. They represented excellence and possibility. Unfortunately, very few of the 1960's Packers remain.

I love this current era of Packers football. Dating back to 1992, the Packers have been fun and competitive.

Yet as long as I live, I will continue to shine a light on the 1960's Packers. The players and the men. Their achievements should always be remembered. I hope future generations don't look past what those gentlemen accomplished.
