MILWAUKEE (SPECTRUM NEWS) -- The 2020 Wisconsin Democratic primary will take place on Tuesday, April 7, 2020.The Wisconsin primary is an open primary, with the state awarding 84 pledged delegates.

Now that Super Tuesday is over, we wanted to know what this means as we move closer to Wisconsin’s Primary in April.

Political science experts tell us that the race for the Democratic nomination will remain tight, possibly to the convention, meaning Wisconsin’s primary will matter, even though it’s not until April.

"We will be seeing many of the candidates make stops in Wisconsin as we get closer to the primary," said Dr. Philip Rocco, a political science professor at Marquette University.

This will be a highly competitive primary and Wisconsin will be in the national spotlight.
