WISCONSIN— Wisconsin saw a total of 3,132 new confirmed cases of coronavirus today, Oct. 8, setting a new record high for the state. 

The previous high was 2,887 news cases in one day.

Wisconsin has a cumulative total of 141,830 positive coronavirus cases thus far. 113,596 people have recovered, coming in at an 80.1 percent recovery rate. One percent of people who have contracted coronavirus have died. Wisconsin has lost 1,424 lives to the pandemic. Nine new deaths were reported today.

8,061 people in Wisconsin have been hospitalized due to coronavirus, a total of 5.7 percent. 110 more people were hospitalized Thursday, following Wednesday's high of 141 new hospitalizations.

Today's positivity rate is 18.06 percent.
