COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State University officially "reorganized" its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programming on Thursday, according to the university's president.
OSU President Ted Carter said as of Friday, the university would close its Office of Diversity and Inclusion and discontinue programming and services from Student Life’s Center for Belonging and Social Change. It also renamed its Office of Institutional Equity to the Office of Civil Rights Compliance.
Students have begun to organize protests against the university's actions, beginning with a silent sit-in at the Center for Belonging and Social Change.
"Come and SIT outside the CSBC to STAND against OSU's discontinuation of CSBC's programming and services effective 2.28.25," a social media post read.
