HAMILTON COUNTY, Ohio — Around 8 p.m. Saturday, crews were called to a train derailment in Wyoming and found three cars on their side, said Lockland Fire Department Chief Doug Wehmeyer.

An evacuation of 500 feet originally was in place, but it was lifted, and it is safe to return to the area. No injuries were reported.

The derailment happened on the tracks between Wyoming and Cooper avenues. Two tank cars and one hopper car made up of the three that were derailed. Crews found metal on the ground, but after sending a drone to survey the land, they found the metal was plastic resin and contained no leaks.

One tank was flammable but was maintained. Another tank had non-odorous, liquidized petroleum gas.

The cars were lifted, and they are being maintained on a property in Lockland. CSX will handle clean-up.
