Some Ohio farmers are wondering how they’ll keep things afloat after unrelenting rain flooded their land. Record rainfall through the Spring planting season devastated farmers, saturating fields and preventing them from planting crops like corn and soybeans. The Ohio Department of Agriculture Director Dorothy Pelanda saw the devastation firsthand. She says she has never seen anything like it before. Director Pelanda says this issue isn’t just affecting farmers, it’s affecting agribusiness across the state and across the nation. Federal aid has been requested to help farms 54 Ohio counties.
